Puttshack and Puttery both tell guests to expect about 30 minutes for a nine-hole game. For 18 holes, Pirate’s Cove says a group of four takes about 45 minutes to one hour, while Shipwrecked recommends planning around one hour.

Those venue examples make 30 minutes for 9 holes and 45 to 60 minutes for 18 holes useful starting points. They are not guarantees: the pace changes with the course, group and queue ahead of you.

The biggest delays are waiting behind other groups, playing with five or more people, helping young children, keeping score, taking photos, and stopping for food or drinks. A single difficult hole can create a queue that slows everyone behind it.

Group limits matter too. Puttery scorecards hold four names, Shipwrecked permits five people per hole, and Puttshack allows up to six. A larger party normally has to play in consecutive teams, so the outing is not finished when the first team completes the course.

Arrive 10 to 15 minutes before a normal booking so the group can park, check in, use the bathroom and collect equipment. Puttshack specifically recommends arriving at least 15 minutes before a tee time when you plan to play first.

For parties and groups, use a 30-minute arrival window. It gives the organizer time to collect guests, handle waivers or payment and divide everyone into teams before the first slot begins.

For a 6:00 p.m. round with four players, plan to arrive at 5:45, start around 6:00 and finish between 6:45 and 7:00. If dinner is the next fixed reservation, book it for 7:30 rather than 7:00 so a queue or slow final holes do not derail the evening.
